Brake Pads and Rotors: labor quote guide
Typical labor time (approximate)
About 1.0 to 2.0 hours. Roughly 1 to 2 hours per axle for pads and rotors on most cars and light trucks. Pads only is usually less; seized hardware, rust, or integral hub/rotor designs take longer.
Disclaimer: Hour ranges are rough, general estimates for common cars and light trucks, not figures from a published labor guide. Real time varies widely with the vehicle, engine, drivetrain, rust and condition. Check your labor guide (e.g. your shop's subscription) for the exact vehicle before quoting.

FAQ
Should I quote per axle?
Yes. Quote front and rear separately, since parts, time, and rear electronic parking brakes differ.
Do I need to bleed the brakes?
Not for a basic pad/rotor job unless the system was opened. Add a fluid flush as a separate line if it's due.
What drives the time up?
Rusted caliper bolts, seized slide pins, electronic parking brakes that need a scan tool to retract, and pressed-on hub rotors.
