Brake Line Repair / Replacement: labor quote guide
Typical labor time (approximate)
About 1 to 4 hours. Widely variable, about 1 to 4+ hours. Replacing a short section is quick; full-length lines or rusted lines over the fuel tank take much longer.
Approximate only: a rough general range, not labor-guide data. Times vary widely by vehicle and condition. Check a labor guide for the exact vehicle. How we estimate
The quote buttons open the labor-quote calculator prefilled; "Start an estimate" adds a labor line to the estimate & invoice generator. Add your own rate, parts and tax.

FAQ
Are compression fittings acceptable for brake lines?
No. Use proper flared fittings that match the system's flare type.
Copper-nickel or steel?
Copper-nickel lines are easier to form and resist corrosion. Steel is common OE. Follow local inspection rules.
Should I replace all the lines if one has rusted through?
Inspect the rest. If they're equally corroded, recommend replacing them and quote it separately.
