Transmission Fluid Service: labor quote guide
Typical labor time (approximate)
About 0.5 to 1.5 hours. Usually about 0.5 to 1.5 hours. Drain-and-fill is quickest; pan drop with filter, or sealed units with a fill procedure at temperature, take longer.
Approximate only: a rough general range, not labor-guide data. Times vary widely by vehicle and condition. Check a labor guide for the exact vehicle. How we estimate
The quote buttons open the labor-quote calculator prefilled; "Start an estimate" adds a labor line to the estimate & invoice generator. Add your own rate, parts and tax.

FAQ
Drain-and-fill or flush?
Follow the manufacturer's recommendation. Drain-and-fill exchanges part of the fluid. Some shops repeat it to raise the percentage.
Can a fluid service cause problems?
Rarely, but if the transmission is already failing it won't fix it. Inspect the fluid and tell the customer before servicing a neglected unit.
Which fluid should I use?
The exact specification required by the manufacturer. CVTs and DCTs use specific fluids.
